Live Coverage on ESPN

DENVER -- The Minnesota Timberwolves took an iron-clad grip on their first-round NBA playoff series against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, winning 106-99. With Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards leading the charge, the Wolves now hold a 2-1 series lead.

Edwards erupted for a team-high 30 points, including a crucial three-pointer late in the fourth quarter. Towns added 26 points and 12 rebounds, dominating the Nuggets inside.

The victory puts Denver in an unfamiliar position, as they have not faced a playoff deficit all season. The Nuggets will look to regroup and even the series when Game 4 tips off on Saturday night.
