MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Anthony Edwards erupted for 27 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves routed the Denver Nuggets 115-70 on Thursday night, forcing a thrilling Game 7 in their Western Conference semifinal series.
The Wolves, who trailed 3-2 in the series, came out firing on all cylinders, taking a commanding 25-point lead by the end of the first quarter. Denver struggled to keep pace throughout the contest, as Minnesota's defense held them to just 33% shooting from the field.
Edwards, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, was unstoppable for the Wolves. He hit 11-of-19 shots from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, and dished out four assists.
